NIHR COVID 19 UK-wide Urgent Public Health Research  National Prioritisation

Summary text: On behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care, the NIHR has established a UK-wide portal for applying for funding and/or prioritised support for urgent COVID-19 research.

COVID-19 Urgent Public Health Research is being prioritised to gather the necessary clinical and epidemiological evidence that will inform national policy and enable new diagnostic tests, treatments and vaccines to be developed and tested for COVID-19.

 

Open call for research and innovation ideas to address COVID-19

Summary text: This supports short-term projects addressing and mitigating the health, social, economic and environmental impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. Projects last between 12 to 18 months and funding covers 80 per cent of full economic costs.

Applicants must submit via NIHR portal first (please see NIHR tab for internal process) and then they will be directed to complete the joint NIHR/UKRI application form where funding is required.

Highlight notice – COVID-19 and ethnicity

Health Systems Research Initiative Call 7: Providing evidence to strengthen health systems in low and middle income countries

Summary text: In recognition of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the funders welcome proposals to research under this scheme.

Innovative proposals are sought from across the public health, social and biomedical sciences to the seventh annual call for the Health Systems Research Initiative. Up to £4.7 million is available for funding foundation and full proposals under this call.
