OU Geography is hiring for TWO posts – one permanent, one fixed term.

OU are launching a new BA in Geography in 2021, and you will be involved in shaping new OU geography teaching and research.  These posts add to 3 new recruitments in the past year as we try to expand and develop a vibrant department with new and existing staff at different stages in their career.

We are very keen to recruit people with diverse interests, from different backgrounds and experiences, and with exciting pedagogic and intellectual interests. Working at the Open University also allows you to get training in excellent distance and online teaching pedagogies. Such methods are increasingly becoming important across the sector and working at the OU will put you at the forefront of developing agenda setting teaching materials that have extensive outreach and influence.

We work together to develop our teaching materials ensuring that you always feel supported as you get accustomed to the learning environment. Research in the department is varied, but at the heart of each project is a positive impact setting agenda.  Members of our department work with local, national and international bodies, shaping policies and programs across these scales.   If you thrive on working in collaborative and group environments, we encourage you to apply.

Details on members of our department here:http://fass.open.ac.uk/geography/people and for an informal chat you can get in touch with any of us.

And for an official description of the post, our Head of Department, Shonil Bhagwat (Shonil.Bhagwat@open.ac.uk) is the best person to contact.
